The military power of the sarmatians has grow up to the end of the 3th century AD, becouse of the migration in Alföld of the roxolani and alani tribes. The gothic pressure of they teritory pused the sarmatians agains the roman Danube limes. The defense of the Roman Empire in this area was organised in such way that a good part of the troops, that we know here, are comitatenses and have a offensive structure. One of this is equites sagittarii. From the inscription from Bela Crkva we belive that this archers have defeat a sarmatian incursion agains the roman military positions.
